Our artistic vision is defined by the name itself, “Forward, Warrior!!”, as an encouragement to self-challenge, self-improve, and to grow into leadership. It is refreshing to find our community of artists helping each other succeed and welcoming new members into the fold, as a diverse and accepting group of people working towards a common goal: to freely express themselves and tell their stories and speak their truth.
We believe Forward Warrior is unique among mural projects in Fulton County, and a valuable asset to the arts community. The geography of the wall is an important factor in our success, as well as the fact that it is not specifically a commercial space, storefront, or corporate HQ, but rather a large retaining wall with no other apparent purpose except for physically holding back dirt.
Our ability to have people painting near each other, on a relatively small road, in a tiny neighborhood, at the same time, is important to promoting our vision and the formation of mutual values. Many artists look forward to participating as a way to catch up with old friends and make new connections.
Forward Warrior has been an important launch pad for the careers of several artists, who use the size, location, and freedom of our medium to shine brightly, speak loudly, and reach a larger audience. We hope to continue offering space and support to the community.
Our mission encompasses all of these values: to nurture arts leadership, to amplify creative voices, to make a place where people learn about themselves, to strengthen our bonds, to prepare honest thinkers to go forth and succeed in the world, and to inspire courage.
The artistic vision is: a hundred pieces as one.
