“Celebrating 1000 Murals in Atlanta” is a media awareness campaign honoring the artists and city who created space for public art, meaningful dialogue, and large scale outdoor paintings.

Cabbagetown Initiative, in partnership with Fulton County Arts & Culture, Atlanta Department of City Planning, and ATL1000, began a public process for an open artist call to install a new mural at Krog Tunnel Southeast Entrance. This project was separate from Forward Warrior, but did feature the participation of four Forward Warrior Advisory Board members voting on the Krog Artist Selection Panel.

ATL1000 is also excited to support PowerHaus Creative realize the Goddess Glow Project, a mural installation featuring black women artists using their talent & voice to control the narrative and representation of their images.

Atlanta Downtown Improvement District also featured several Atlanta muralists on their digital billboards in partnership with Orange Barrel Media, in support of the ATL1000 awareness campaign. Promotional assistance by Purpose Possible helped generate journalistic interest in the project.

ATL1000 was original conceptualized by Art Ruddick at Street Art Map, an amazing resource for artists, residents, and visitors with walking tour maps, interactive guides, and detailed information on many of Atlanta’s 1000+ murals.
